At this time, Workers United of Western North Carolina will continue its normal activities while taking steps to reduce the risk of community transmission of COVID-19. At this time, the organization will continue as planned with the Health and Safety Workshops in Arden on March 13 at 5PM and on March 15 in Morganton at 12:00 noon.

The health and safety of our community is central to any decision related to our community events. If you don’t feel safe participating we respect your decision to take care of yourself and stay home.

In view of the rapid development of the situation, if you are coming to a Workers United of Western North Carolina community event we ask our community to take appropriate precautions.

1. If you feel sick, go to the doctor and we ask that you please do not come to the community events so as not to expose others.
2. If you have been in contact with a person who is ill, please do not come to the community events.
3. If you are feeling well and do not have any symptoms of illness and decide to come to the meeting, please do the following:
➢ Just greet verbally without shaking hands or hugging.
➢ Wash your hands when you arrive and when you leave.
➢ When you sneeze or have to cough, cover your mouth with the inside of your elbow.
➢ Wash your child’s hands.
➢ If you clean your nose, wash your hands after doing it.
➢ If you clean your child’s nose, wash your hands.
➢ Do not share eating utensils with others.
➢ Do not bring prepared food from home to share.
4. If your child is sick or is not feeling well, please stay home to take care of your child or take your child to the doctor and do not attend the community event.
